December is a period that waited by observers sky. Not only the Geminid meteor shower, also a lunar eclipse will occur around December 20th to 21st.

Based on information from NASA, the respective regions in the world will experience a different appearance of the eclipse. Last lunar eclipse occurs February 20, 2008. Although, two total lunar eclipse will be waiting in 2011, observers in North America have to wait until April 2014 to see the lunar eclipse which is amazing.

Basically a lunar eclipse occurs when the moon was behind the shadow of the Earth. Unlike a solar eclipse, sky watchers do not need to use eye protection.

At 20th to 21st December, 2010 later, during normal weather, sky observers will not be aware of this phenomenon until 45 minutes later, when the clouds or shadows appear on the left side of the moon.

Total lunar eclipse December 2010 will be visible across North and South America, northern and western Europe, a minority of northeast Asia, including Japan and Korea. The eclipse was also visible in the area of New Zealand and Hawaii. Overall, an estimated 1.5 billion people will gather to watch the lunar eclipse.

For people in the western region of Africa and Central Europe could see a lunar eclipse before the moon came down from the equator in the morning on 21st December. On the other hand, some of area of eastern Asia and Australia can see it on 21st December, evening.
