Nuclear Reactor

After the devastating earthquake measuring 8.9 magnitude and was followed by tsunami in the northeast region of Japan has taken the lives of hundreds of people dead and tens of thousands of others missing and destroyed buildings and infrastructure facilities. Now, Japan threatened nuclear disaster. This disaster is the biggest disaster in Japan in 140 years and throughout world history. Estimated losses reached about 100 billion dollars in AS.  For Japan's recovery will require no small cost, so that Japan's economic situation will affect countries who cooperate with Japan.

The Japanese government prepare and work hard to face the possibility of a nuclear crisis after the explosion at the Fukushima nuclear facilities. Two reactors are in crisis partial and four reactors in danger. Exact cause is not known, but is expected due to the cooling system is not functioning after the earthquake that occurred on Friday. The Japanese government had announced about two nuclear reactors in Fukushima partially melted.

Partial leakage in Reactor Unit 3 in Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) Fukushima Dai-ichi is very worrying, both locals and throughout Japan. Cabinet Secretary of Japan, Yukio Edano said that radiation levels initially rise above the threshold are allowed, but then dropped significantly. The Japanese government recognizes that radiation has achieved an increase to levels outside the damaged power plant have exceeded the legal limit. To avoid the radiation that endanger residents, residents within a radius of 20 kilometers from the Fukushima has been evacuated. The Japanese government also distribute iodine for residents who evacuated to protect them from exposure to radioactivity.

Fukushima explosion reminiscent of the nuclear disaster that it had occurred and was the worst disaster in the history of the world, the Three Mile Island nuclear disaster (1979) and the Chernobyl disaster (1986). However, according to nuclear safety agency, Fukushima nuclear power plant accident are not as bad as Three Mile Island nuclear accident and Chernobyl.

Japan is facing a severe problem, other than by an earthquake and tsunami that brings death toll that continues to grow, Japan is facing a severe problem, other than by an earthquake and tsunami that brings death toll that continues to grow, hopefully the experts can explain and deal with this problem. Hopefully the efforts of nuclear reactor coolant succeed, so can not cause radiation problems awful for all of us.
